What Happened After Vegas? (Unexpected Love #2) Page 2

Cliff laughed at her choice of words.

"That would get old real fast," she said. "I don't mind a nice dinner or dancing every now and then, but that's not who I am. I just as much enjoy a night with takeout in front of the television, in sweats, with my hair in a ponytail. For me, it's more about quality time together. The thought of snuggling up on the couch in front of a good movie or game of cards beats out any fancy event."

"That sounds amazing," he said. "We should do that next time."

"Next time?" she asked. "You said one date was all you wanted."

"You know that's not what I meant," he said, as he pulled into a spot at her apartment complex and shut his car off.

His eyes connected with hers, and she felt a familiar feeling shoot straight to her core. It was the same as when they were together in Vegas. The way he looked at her made her feel sexy and wanted. It felt so damn good. She sucked her bottom lip into her mouth and thought about kissing him. His eyes had an intimidating and stern look to them. She could see how he could use them in court. They had her squirming in her seat, but in a good way. Without a word, he got out of the car, rounded to her side, opened her door, and reached for her hand. She got out and could feel the intense emotions in the air between them. He closed the door behind her and walked her to her apartment.

She unlocked the door and opened it nervously.

"My apartment is very small," she began to babble. "I don't plan to stay here forever. It was the best I could afford when I moved out on my own. It's not that I couldn't have had more. I just didn't want to deal with fighting him. I'm just getting on my feet again. I know it would probably all fit in your bathroom, but."

Before she could go any deeper into how she felt about what she had, he pulled her into his arms, closed the door behind them, and crashed his mouth down on hers. It wasn't like the soft, romantic kiss they had shared when he first arrived. It was the complete opposite. There was so much emotion and feeling. It was filled with unsaid words. When he released her, she gasped to catch her breath.

"I don't care how small or big your apartment is. Please, do not ever feel like that with me. None of that means anything. I'm just happy to be spending time with you."

"I just don't want you to feel like," she began.

"Stop," he said sternly. "Don't say another word. I've waited all week to see you. I don't know what it is about you. We only went out once, but I feel like I've known you for years. I don't give a shit what you have or where you live."

"Please know that I do not sleep with men on the first date. I've been worried about that. I don't want you to think that about me. I can't figure out exactly what it was about you that had me behaving like that, Cliff. It scares the shit out of me."

His hand was on the back of her head, and his mouth was on hers again. She ran her fingers up his back and into his hair. Her lips parted as his mouth took hers. Their tongues fought for control before dancing together in perfect harmony. His body was against hers as he walked her back and held her against the door. When his knee went between her legs and rubbed against her, she couldn't hold back the moan that escaped her. It was honestly the sexiest moment she had ever experienced. Cliff broke their connection long enough to grab the bottom of her sweater and pull it over her head.

"I've been waiting all week to see you," she whispered.

He didn't let her finish before his lips were on hers again. She whimpered as he pulled her bottom lip between his teeth. Cliff looked into her eyes, wrapped his hand in her hair, and pulled back to open her neck to him. Her eyes widened at the boldness of his moves. It was a side of him she hadn't seen the weekend before. He placed small kisses down her neck, as he removed her bra and dropped it at her feet. His mouth continued traveling downward until he was at her naked breasts. As his tongue licked across her nipple, she felt it harden. He sucked and pulled her nipple into his mouth before releasing it with a pop. He then traveled to the other side to show it the same attention. She felt alive and knew she was wet for him.

Cliff slowly kissed down her belly and stopped at the waist of her jeans. He looked up at her from on his knees. Their eyes were locked together, as he unbuttoned and unzipped her pants. Slowly, he slid them down her legs never breaking eye contact with her. She stood before him in a pair of tiny, white panties. His tongue came out and slid across his lips and she whimpered again. Rachel knew her panties were soaked and waiting to be removed. He slid his fingers under the fabric while watching her for approval. She felt more shy in that moment than she ever had before. Her head nodded, and he took them slowly down her legs. She stepped out one leg at a time and then stood frozen with her legs together. He put his hands on her legs and nudged them.

"Open for me," he said, staring into her eyes.

She stood still without moving. He kept his voice calm but serious when he spoke again.

"I can't wait one more second to taste you, Rachel. Open your legs."

She took a deep breath and slowly opened them. Cliff looked into her eyes, as he leaned forward and ran his tongue up her thigh stopping just before he reached the spot she wanted him most. He moved his hand up her other thigh but didn't stop. His fingers spread her open and he smiled.

"You have no idea how perfect you are," he said, as his tongue slid through her folds.

Rachel moaned as soon as his tongue made contact. It was unbelievable. She knew her juices were all over his tongue as he continued to lick every bit of her. He lifted her leg and placed it over his shoulder. She could not believe she was standing against her front door, completely naked, with his face buried between her legs. He brought things out in her she didn't know were possible. She was already doing things she never would have dreamt of with Cliff. His finger began playing with her clit, and her head went back against the door. She moaned when he began to speed up the movement of his tongue. Her hand went to his head, as she ran her fingers through his hair. She was damn close to exploding when he entered her with his tongue.

  "Oh, Cliff," she cried out.

She looked down at him and couldn't take her eyes off of the sight of him pleasuring her. He put pressure of her clit and fucked her with his tongue. Cliff was reaching spots she didn't even know existed. She couldn't hold back and exploded around his tongue as she called out his name over and over. He continued licking up every bit of her juices, as she rode out her amazing orgasm. When she was done, she felt like she was going to collapse.

Cliff was on his feet and holding her in seconds. He licked his lips and claimed her mouth hard. She gasped as he held her against the door. Rachel grabbed for the bottom of his shirt and pulled up as fast as she could. She threw it to the ground and wrapped her arms around him. The feel of his warm, hard chest against hers and the pressure of him pressed against her had her moaning again. He let out a tiny chuckle before nipping her lip. She yelped in surprise. Her hands ran up and down his back, as she kneaded his muscles with her hands. Shit! How did he stay so damn fit, she wondered? Her hands moved to his jeans as she quickly undid them and shoved them, along with his boxers, down his legs. He quickly stepped out of them, grabbed something from his pocket, and threw them to the side without releasing his hold on her. She heard the rip of the package. A few seconds later, he grabbed her leg and lifted.

She felt his hard cock at her entrance and couldn't wait to have him inside of her. Her body moved without her mind telling it to. She rubbed her pussy against his tip and had him moaning into her mouth. Her leg was wrapped around his waist as he plunged in her. She gasped for air, as he filled her completely. The way her clit moved against his skin had tiny fireworks firing off inside of her. She had never felt anything like it in her life. Cliff reached around, grabbed under her ass, and lifted. She wrapped her other leg around him and smiled. He continued to thrust into her over and over. Each time lifting her and dropping her onto him. Her back brushed against the cold door every time, and she knew it wouldn't be long before she was spiraling into another amazing orgasm. She pulled away from his ki
ss to catch her breath. The deep look in his eyes only turned her on more. When he held her hips tight and slammed into her, she heard a growl come from deep in his chest. Her head fell back against the door, and her eyes closed. He leaned in and took her nipple into his mouth, grazing it with his teeth.

"Fuck," she cried out. "Oh, Cliff, please."

He continued his hold on her hips and thrust into her, as she moved up and down his cock. Just when she was right on the edge and ready to come, he sucked her nipple hard and she flew right over the edge.

"Cliff, oh," she yelled. "Don't stop. So Good."

When her orgasm ripped through her, she felt like she was being torn in two. Everything went black, and she couldn't hear or see a thing. Her heart beat hard in her chest. She felt her pussy tighten around his dick over and over. It seemed like it was going to go on forever.

"Shit," he groaned. "You have no idea how good it feels when you come on my cock. Hang on tight."

She held onto his shoulders and lifted herself up before letting her body slam down on him. He held her hips tighter and pumped into her fast and so deep as he came hard. She loved the pulsing of his cock as he came.

Her body collapsed down against his, as her arms wrapped around his neck.

  "Bedroom?" he asked.

She directed him down the hallway.

  "It's small," she whispered.

"Don't make comments like that while I'm carrying you naked after having just been inside of you," he said. "It's not good for the ego."

She couldn't stop the laughter that bubbled inside of her.

"Oh, not that," she said. "It's absolutely perfect. My bedroom is small. I just don't want you to not want to come here."

He laughed as he rounded the corner, turned on her light, and dropped her onto the bed.

"Oh, I want to come here," he said with a wink. "The size of your bedroom has nothing to do with that. It's nice to see you thinking about me coming back."

She looked up at him with a huge smile on her face, as she patted the bed next to her.

"I like this side of you," she said.

"What side is that?" he asked.

  She shook her head.

"Every side," she said. "I mean it. I like your sense of humor."

She moved the covers down, and he crawled in next to her. He pulled the covers over them, and she rolled onto her side, put her arm over him, and leaned her chin on his chest.

"I'm sorry we didn't make it passed the front door," he said, as he rubbed her shoulder.

"I'm not," she said. "That was incredible. I've never experienced anything like that in my life."

He moved his head so he could see her face better.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

She looked down at his chest, but he lifted her chin so he could see her eyes.

"I thought everything was good all those years. I thought we were perfect. I've realized this last week how wrong I was. It makes me so mad at myself for wasting all those years of my life."

"If you hadn't spent those years with him, you wouldn't have been in that pool last weekend. That's something I would never want to change," he said. "When I looked up from my laptop and saw you with your friends, I knew I wanted to get to know you."

"Are you sure it wasn't my loud friends that got your attention?" Rachel asked.

"Not at all," he said. "You looked beautiful but shy. Each time I looked over, you avoided me. I had an amazing time with you that day. Watching your face as you watched Elton John sing was breathtaking. I can't remember the last time I had that good of a time. I didn't want the night to end."

"You made me feel so special that day. I've never had that good of a time with anyone. It wasn't the nice dinner and the concert. I don't want you to think that. You were concerned that I was having a good time. You were so attentive and wanted to talk about me. I felt like you really cared. Playing slots with you was so much fun. It was nice doing that together. I didn't want the night to end either and was so nervous about being in your room. I know that sounds crazy. I'm not a teenager. I was so worried I was going to disappoint you, but you were so comforting and understanding. It seemed so natural being with you."

She took a deep breath. He continued running his hand up and down her back without saying a word.

"We talked all week. I couldn't wait to talk to you again. I wanted to hear about your job and your life. We went out to a diner in jeans tonight, and I had the best time. We weren't even in my apartment yet, and I couldn't wait to kiss you. As soon as you did, I was lost. You probably do that kind of stuff all the time, and I feel stupid for saying this. What happened out there was explosive and amazing. It was the opposite of what happened in your hotel room last weekend, and that was amazing. Seeing a different side of you tonight was something I would never change. The look in your eyes was intense. The way you treated me made me feel desired and wanted. You make me feel things I didn't know I was capable of feeling."

She pulled her chin from his hand and sat up wrapping her arms around her legs.

"The thought of getting to know you any more than I already do scares the shit out of me," she said. "I don't want to be stupid enough to let my heart get broken again. After feeling the things I've felt this week with you, I'm not sure I can take that risk. It seems too good to be true, and you know what they say about that. You're too good to be true."

She moved to get out of the bed when his hand came up and grabbed her arm.

  "Cliff," she said.

"What we did out there isn't something I do all the time," he began. "I have never slept with someone the day that I met them. Last weekend was a first for me as well. I didn't want to leave. I haven't been able to get you out of my mind all week. I've been in very important meetings this week, and I can't tell you much of what happened in them. That has never happened before either. My company is my life. I hate talking on the phone. I truly cannot stand it. With you it's different. I seriously counted the damn minutes until I could call you. I am very careful who I let into my life and how quickly I open up to them. You bolted right in. I don't know what it is about you, but I can't let you run from me. The thought of not seeing you again honestly hurts. It does sound crazy. I know that. I've never felt the need to kiss and touch someone as much as I have with you. I've never not made it through the front door before. You bring that out in me. I shouldn't have been like that. You deserve better. I'm sorry."

She turned quickly to face him.

"Don't apologize. That was the best sexual experience of my life. I can't imagine anything better than what happened out there."

"That's setting the bar high," he said with a smile. "I'm thinking we can do much better than that."

She reached forward and smacked his arm. He pulled her back and wrapped his arms around her.

"I was married before," he said. "You know that. I had just gotten my first law job at a small firm. We met through a friend. Things were good. I was starting a new career and wanted to have a family. We dated for about six months before I proposed. She was more about how nice our house was and what we had. Money was new to me, and I wanted to make her happy. We had the huge wedding with more people than I wanted to count. She was happy. My job was to keep her happy while trying to move up in the firm. It wasn't a year into our marriage when I found out she was cheating on me. Looking back, I can see every single thing that was wrong with our relationship. At the time I was pissed. I worked hard every single day while she spent every penny we had. By the time I got home, I was exhausted. She couldn't be bothered with making dinner or taking care of things around the house. I worked my ass off for what we had, but it meant nothing to her. I shouldn't have been surprised to find out she was sleeping with a friend of mine who was also a lawyer."

Rachel looked into his eyes as he spoke.

"I made sure she had a place to live and everything she needed while we went through a divorce. As soon as the signatures were on the paper, she married my friend. They lasted five y
ears and had a child together. That was it for me. I put every moment of my time into making something of myself. I dated over the years, but I have never opened myself up to the thought of love, marriage, or family. It took me a long time to build my firm. I have rules in my company, and they are to be followed. I'm not a mean boss. I'm laid back and very supportive of family situations. I want the people who work for me to be able to see their spouses and children. I do not tolerate lying at my firm or in my life. I have never intended on getting married again or falling in love. That's not for me. I will never let anyone take advantage of me again. I see why you feel the way you do about love and getting hurt. I completely agree with you. But at the same time, the thought of never seeing you again feels awful. I can't tell you why I feel that way. I just do."

They both remained silent in each other's arms. Rachel finally broke the silence.

"Thank you for telling me that. I'm so sorry that happened to you. I can't imagine anyone treating you that way. You are a good man, Cliff. That's what scares me. I don't want a shitty man. I just mean, I'm afraid that one day I'll open my eyes and you won't be who I thought you were. I know that's not fair to you. You didn't do anything wrong. I've felt things this week I never felt with him. It hurt me when I found them together. It hurt even worse when I saw how evil he could be. How could someone I trusted and thought cared about me be so damn horrible? The things I've already felt with you are so much stronger than the things I felt after years with him. I know better than to open my heart to you. If he could break my heart, I know that you could ruin me, Cliff. I can't let that happen."

"I'm nothing like that piece of shit," he said. "I promise you that."

"I didn't mean you were. I'm sorry," she said.

"Do not be sorry for telling me how you feel. I like that about you. You're willing to be honest with me. That is so refreshing. I know that the smart thing for me to do is to walk away from you. I don't want to feel the things I do. You're not like anyone I've ever spent time with before. You are such a good person. I care about you already. I know that I need to move on, but I can't. I want to get to know you better. I want to see what you're like after spending a day at school. You talk about it with such passion. I can tell you care about those kids. There is so much to still learn about you. Please, don't ever not tell me something because you don't want to hurt my feelings. Honesty means more to me than anything."
