What Happened After Vegas? (Unexpected Love #2) Page 10

Cliff walked out of the bathroom with his tie hanging around his neck. It took all she had not to grab him by it. The room got quiet. He must have gone down to the kitchen already, she thought.

Rachel looked in the mirror. She was brushing her hair when she snickered and put on a serious face.

"It's not negotiable," she said in a bossy tone into the mirror.

She felt him before she saw him. With his hand on her back, he nudged her down. Her naked breasts felt cool against the marble counter and she gasped. She saw his hand move back in the mirror a moment before she felt the smack and sting that followed. Rachel couldn't help the moan that escaped her. She looked into the mirror and saw his eyes look deep into hers. His hand rubbed the spot he had just made contact with. He pulled back and spanked her again. It was one of the hottest things she had ever experienced.

"Was that supposed to be funny?" he asked. "Is that what you do when I leave the room?"

Their was a playful sexiness in his voice, but it was mixed with the deep tone that always went straight to her core. She felt desired as she looked into the mirror and saw him. He pulled back and spanked her a third time before again rubbing the spot. She was so unbelievably turned on. He wrapped her hair around his hand and pulled slightly. When he leaned down over her back and kissed her neck, she thought she was going to come instantly. Seeing them like that was so sexy. He looked up into the mirror at her.

"Do you have any idea how sexy you look with your neck open, your body bent over beneath me, your bare nipples hard against the cool counter, and your sexy ass with my handprint naked in front of me?"

Rachel closed her eyes and moaned as he ran his fingers down her bare back.

"What would you say if I told you I want you to stay perfectly still while I get on my knees and devour your pussy?"

Rachel moaned again, as he moved his fingers to her clit.

"Shit!" he groaned. "You're so damn wet and ready. We can't waste that, can we? I'm going to lick and suck every single bit of you before I thrust my tongue inside of you. Once you come around my tongue, I'm going to watch your face as I take you from behind."

He kissed her neck as he pinched her nipple and played with her clit.

  "Cliff," she cried out.

"I want your eyes open the whole time, baby," he said. "Do you hear me? I want you to stay perfectly still. Just like you are right now."

Cliff rolled up the sleeves on his shirt and undid the front. His tie still hung from his neck. Just the sight of him had her moving against the cool counter.

"Still," he said. "If you don't stop moving, you're not going to come. We'll see if you mock me again, baby. I can see it in your eyes. You want to come. Behave and stay still."

Rachel didn't know what had gotten into him, and she didn't care. All she knew was, she needed him more than she needed to breathe. Cliff dropped to his knees. He grabbed her ankles in his hands and moved them apart. Then he trailed his fingers up the insides of her legs. She moaned, as she tried to keep her legs still. It was taking all she had, but there was no way she wasn't coming. She had a huge feeling he meant exactly what he said. He'd let her stew all day if he needed to. She knew he held all the control in that moment. Rachel cried out as his tongue made contact with her. He did exactly what he said, as he licked and sucked her. He pinched and rubbed her clit as he licked her. She could feel her juices dripping from her. When he thrust his tongue into her, she pushed back against him. He pulled his tongue out and stopped.

"Don't stop," she begged. "Please, Cliff."

"Stay still," he growled. "I'll give you one more chance."

She let out a huff and heard him laugh.

He thrust his tongue into her again. She moaned and cried out his name as he continued to rub her clit and fuck her with his tongue. He was reaching the most amazing places. She couldn't hold out much longer. Rachel knew when she came it was going to be amazing. She remained as still as she could. He moved his tongue out and soaked up her juices. Then he thrust his tongue in deep and picked up the pace on her clit. She moaned and held onto the counter as she came so damn hard on his face. Her breathing was deep and she was panting, as he stood up behind her.

Cliff watched her in the mirror. He pulled back on her hair and claimed her mouth.

"You taste amazing," he groaned, as he undid his pants and pushed them down with his boxers. "Now, I'm going to take you from behind hard and deep."

Cliff opened the condom and rolled it over his shaft before lining it up with her entrance.

"Are you ready for me, baby," he asked in a deep tone. "I want your eyes open the whole time. I need you to hold on tight. I'm taking you hard. I need to be deep inside of you."

Rachel felt like she was going to come again already. He was everything she could ever imagine all rolled into one perfect man.

"I'm ready," she said. "Take me, Cliff. Give me everything you have."

He gripped her hips, looked into her eyes in the mirror, and thrust into her.

  "Fuck," she yelled. "Oh, Cliff."

Rachel held on tight, as he fucked her hard and deep. She liked looking in the mirror at him. It made it so much better. She could see the dark need in his eyes as he filled her up and moved her body forward. Her nipples brushed against the cool marble over and over. She watched as he pumped into her.

"Harder," she cried out. "I need all of you, Cliff. Fuck.Me.Harder."

He held her hips tighter and slammed into her deep and fast.

"Oh, yeah," she cried out. "Fuck, babe."

She couldn't take her eyes off his beautiful face. The way he watched her made her feel so sexy. She slammed her ass back against him hard and exploded around his cock. Her pussy tighten around him, as she yelled out his name repeatedly. With his hands on her hips, she watched as he thrust into her. His eyes closed and his head fell back as he released into her over and over. It was the sexiest thing she had ever seen.

He leaned down over her and kissed her neck. She could hear his breathing even out. He stood back up and pulled out of her. She watched him quietly take care of the condom. He took a deep breath and looked at her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and felt her nipples rub his naked chest.

"That was amazing," she said. "I have to say, I think this is the best morning of my life."

"You are so beautiful," he said, as he hugged her.

He pulled back and looked into her eyes.

"Are you going to mock me again?" he asked with a smile.

"Every single morning," she said, as she flung his tie and walked seductively away.

Rachel heard him laugh from deep in his belly, as she walked out of the room.

  Chapter 16

Cliff picked her up at five o'clock to take her to the doctor.

"I really don't need to go," Rachel said, as he opened the door for her to walk into the office. "I've felt good all day. Maybe it was that horrible punishment I got for mocking you, but my day has been amazing."

"You're going," he said. "It's for my sanity."

When they called Rachel back to the exam room, it was the normal routine. Cliff refused to leave her side. They checked her weight, but she wouldn't let him look. He shook his head and laughed. They checked her blood pressure and gave her a cup to leave her sample in.

"Did you want to accompany me to do this as well?" she asked with a smile.

"You're something else," he said with a laugh. "What would you do if I went with you?"

She didn't say a word and hurried out of the room. When she got back, Cliff held her hand while the doctor asked her all the normal questions about her menstrual cycle and family health. She looked over at Cliff and shook her head embarrassed to talk in front of him. The doctor asked about her symptoms, and Cliff hurried to answer. Rachel cut him off after he told the doctor how many times she had gotten sick.

"I told him it's just the stress that's been going on. We've had so many things happen lately that involve my ex-husband alone and with his sister. I'
ve also just went back to work and moved out of my apartment. I think it's just really gotten to me."

The doctor listened to Rachel ramble on and on about what could possibly be wrong. When Rachel finished, the doctor put her hand on Rachel's knee.

"It's not the stress," the doctor said. "I have something I need to tell you, but I think I should tell you alone."

Rachel felt Cliff's hold on her hand tighten. She looked over and saw fear in his eyes.

"I'm not leaving her," he whispered. "Whatever it is, we can get through it together. I'm not letting you tell her something without me here. I'll do anything for her. I can't leave."

The doctor looked at Rachel as she nodded her okay. Rachel held Cliff's hand tight. She felt her chest tighten. What could the doctor possibly already know, she wondered? Was it just a simple flu or something? If it wasn't the stress, what was it? The doctor cleared her throat to bring Rachel back to the conversation. Rachel noticed the doctor look at Cliff and then back at her.

"Rachel," the doctor said looking directly at her. "You're pregnant."

Rachel gasped as she froze. Her eyes were locked on the doctor's. She didn't say a word. The room was silent. Cliff still had her hand, but she was afraid to look at him. It seemed like hours passed.

"Are you okay?" the doctor asked.

"Mmmm," was all that came out.

"A baby," she heard Cliff whisper beside her. "A baby."

  "Rachel," the doctor said.

"Not possible," Rachel whispered. "Two weeks ago. I just was on it two weeks ago. It was lighter than usual, but I thought that was from the stress. Are you sure?"

  "I'm positive," the doctor answered.

Rachel turned to face Cliff and saw a huge smile on his face. She felt instant relief as soon as their eyes connected.

  "How far along?" Rachel asked.

"I'm not sure," the doctor answered. "We're going to do blood work and an ultrasound. Since your cycle never changed, we have to figure it out another way. Did you do something without protection, or have you always been protected?"

"There was that one time," Cliff said.

  "When?" Rachel asked confused.

"The night that stuff happened with Jake at the apartment. We went back to the house. We didn't use protection."

"Shit!" Rachel said before quickly covering her mouth. "I'm sorry."

  The doctor laughed.

"It's okay," the doctor said. "When was that? Do you remember around what Date?"

"Two months and two weeks ago," she said. "It was a very memorable day."

"I want to do an ultrasound to see if it lines up with that date. I also am going to do blood work to check your HCG levels. The nurse will come in to get your blood first."

The doctor left the room. Rachel sat quiet for a moment. She looked down and refused to take her eyes off of the floor.

"You can go and wait in the waiting room if you want," she said. "Now you know what's wrong."

"Nope," he said. "I'm not going anywhere."

The nurse walked into the room. Rachel wasn't sure about the whole needle thing. She winced when the nurse held it up.

  "Are you okay?" cliff asked.

"I'm just a little afraid of needles. Okay, a lot," she whimpered.

He held her other hand in his and squeezed.

"Just look at me," he said in a soft voice. "Rachel, look at me."

She looked over at him, and he smiled.

"My job to take care of you. It'll be fine. Squeeze my hand if you need to. I can take it. Just keep focused on my eyes, baby. If you need to, think about this morning. It's not negotiable."

Just like that, her body relaxed. He was her calm in all things. He always kept her safe.

The nurse quickly got the blood she needed and was done. Rachel couldn't believe that she hadn't even felt it.

"Thank you for not poking fun at me," she said.

The doctor walked in and had them follow her down the hall. She had Rachel get on a table. There was a machine next to her that she assumed was the ultrasound machine. The doctor squirted stuff on her belly and moved the wand around it. Cliff took Rachel's hand in his and watched the screen.

She had no idea what he was thinking. Was he upset? Was he excited? What would happen to them? She had no idea how she felt. It was all so sudden. She spent years wanting a baby with who she thought was the love of her life. It turned out that she was so wrong. Cliff was the love of her life. She hadn't even thought about having a baby with him. Everything with Jake kept them busy. She had just moved into Cliff's house weeks before. Would he be okay with it? What if he wasn't? What if he stayed with her just because of the baby? She didn't want that. He had just found out about his sister being pregnant. Was it going to be the thing to tip him over the edge? Rachel couldn't stop her mind from wandering. A noise coming from the screen snapped her out of her thoughts.

  "What's that?" Rachel asked.

"That is your baby's heartbeat," the doctor replied. "A very strong and healthy heartbeat."

Rachel took a deep breath and watched the screen. The baby was so tiny, but she could hear the sound of the heartbeat loud and clear. There was no stopping the tears that spilled down her cheeks. She looked up at Cliff and saw tears on his cheek as well. A baby, she thought. They were going to have a baby. He wiped his face with his hand and leaned down next to her to wipe her tears away as well.

"A baby," he said. "I'm going to be a dad. We're having a baby."

He put his hands on her cheeks and kissed her.

  "You're okay," she said.

"I'm more than okay. I'm happier than I've ever been in my life. I can't believe we're having a baby. Are you ready for a little Cliff or little Rachel?"

She shook her head and laughed. The doctor printed off a few pictures for them to take with them.

"Can we get a few more?" Cliff asked. "I have to pass our baby's first picture around the office."

The doctor laughed and printed off more.

"Everything matches what you are saying. We have to wait for the blood work to come back first, but I'm pretty sure you're about ten weeks along. Everything looks good. We can hear the little one's heartbeat and it sounds great. I'll call you when the results come back. You should come in once a month. I want you started on vitamins right away."

Rachel sat thinking the entire ride home. Her mind began moving in every direction. She couldn't help but hope he was really happy about the baby. There was no way she wanted him to be there out of obligation. She was so excited about being pregnant. It was always a dream of hers to have a baby, but she had given up on that years before. She couldn't believe it was really true. No matter what happened, she knew she was going to be the best mom ever. She was pregnant. It was unbelievable in her mind.

She thought about what had happened to her the past few years. When she walked in on Jake and his secretary, she thought her life was over. The only man she had loved had hurt her in the worst way possible. She had to start over and fight him for a divorce. Rachel thought she would never be able to trust or count on a man again. Being in Vegas for her divorce party felt horrible to her. She didn't want to celebrate what she had been through. She never thought anything good was going to come out of going there. Love was off the table. She was never doing that again. Her heart would never be able to open again.

The things Cliff had been through for her were awful. She couldn't believe he had stuck with her through the crap with Jake and her insecurities, but he had. He was her love and her best friend. She loved him more than she ever cared for Jake. Cliff was everything she could have ever dreamt her prince charming would be and more. He took care of her and worried about her when she wouldn't even worry for herself.

Rachel looked over at Cliff and thought about how lucky she was to have walked in on Jake and his secretary. It was the best thing that ever happened to her. She had the most amazing love in her life. Rachel couldn't have imagined her life being any better than it was with Cliff. To find
out she was pregnant made her life more than perfect. The thought of having his baby brought tears to her eyes again. He reached over and took her hand. Cliff always knew when she needed him. He was there every single time without her ever having to ask. She looked over at her perfect man and knew that her life couldn't get any better.

  Chapter 17

When they got home, he still hadn't said a word. He closed the door behind them and turned to her.

"Stay right here," he said. "I'll be right back."

Cliff took off up the stairs, taking them two at a time. She stood just inside the door wondering what he was doing. Did he mean right there? Should she go into the living room? Was he freaking out about the baby? She looked up to find him looking down from the top step with a small box in his hand. He walked slowly down the stairs. It was much different than his way up the stairs went. When he got to the bottom, he stopped in front of her. His eyes were darker than usual and his expression was serious. He took her hand and looked into her eyes.

"This morning, I thought I was the luckiest man in the world. When I heard you mock me in the mirror, there was no doubt in my mind that I needed you right then, right there. You're my woman. You are smart, beautiful, loving, cocky, caring, and a total smart-mouth. I wouldn't have it any other way. I left for work knowing that you were my everything and couldn't wait to get back home with you. There was no way my life could get any better. I had the perfect woman to stand by my side no matter what life threw at us."

He stopped for a moment before continuing.

"Then it happened. My life got even better. When I heard the doctor say pregnant, I couldn't believe I heard her correctly. I thought back to the night at your apartment. That night changed my life. I knew that night that I was going to spend the rest of my life with you."

"We had only known each other five weeks," she whispered.

"I know," he said. "When we left your apartment that night, I knew it. I promise you. When we came back here, something was different for me. I knew that I would never spend another night without you in my arms."

  "You haven't," she said.
